Marine Facilities
Our covered boatshed measures 54m x 25m with an air height of 10m. The maximum dimensions of vessels we can accommodate within the boatshed are 30m x 8m. We can cater for a maximum of 4 vessels undercover simultaneously depending upon the overall size of vessels. Very large vessels, or those requiring just a quick slip and re-launch can remain on the slipways outside our boatshed.
An undercover working environment greatly increases the quality of finish we can achieve in painting and enables us to be independent of weather conditions.
We have two slipways. Our main slipway can accomodate vessels up to 200 tons and our second slipway can accomodate vessels up to 40 tons.
Within the boatshed we have engineering and joiners workshops, stores and canteen facilities.
Berthing, Mooring, Drying-out
Immediately adjacent to the slipways we have mooring, berthing and drying-out facilities. We can accommodate vessels up to 80 m in length alongside the pier for fitting out or during trials, and can provide craning, water and power at 240v, 110v and 3 phase.
With a spring tidal range of approx. 4m vessels can dry out further up the pier for a quick underwater inspection, repair or antifoul between tides. Vessels arriving at the yard and awaiting slipping, or vessels waiting to depart after launching, can be accommodated on our mooring for short or longer periods, weather permitting.
